Saturday and Sunday 9 & 10 September 2023 will see the 19th running of the Tour de Ghaap Ultra Mountain Bike Race. Ulco is situated approximately 85 kms North-West of Kimberley on the R31 en route to Postmansburg. On the first day a distance of 73 kms on the new circular route, and on the second day 55 kms on a more technical course .

Day one places emphasis on speed and endurance. Day two concentrates on technical skills as the route winds through mountainous terrain.

On route on day one there are 4 water and energy points and on day two 3 water and energy points. At base camp Ulco is food and drinks provided from Friday evening until Sunday lunch. Cyclists and their families are responsible for their own tents and camping gear. Registration is at Ulco from 12h00 Friday 8 September 2023. Ablution facilities are available at the campsite in Ulco.

Friday evening is pasta evening. On Saturday morning breakfast from 06h45, lunch after stage 1, on Saturday evening a full “Northern Cape” braai is given. Sunday breakfast again from 06h45 and a full lunch for all riders and paid visitors.  A cash bar will be available for the whole weekend.

The race starts at 08h00 on Saturday and Sunday morning in Ulco. The little ones take part in a mini race at 16h00 also in Ulco at the campsite. Departure after the events prizegiving and lunch on Sunday will be at 13h00. The costs for the event vary per category per rider. Check the entry form on the website for special cost arrangements for the non-riding family members.
